About us

Before founding chinacraftstudio.com, I walked a path filled with exploration and quiet reflection.

The Code That Couldn’t Hold My Soul

After graduating from university, I entered the workforce as a programmer. Over two years in the world of code, I gained technical experience but always felt a distance between this work and my inner vision for the future. Rigid workflows and repetitive tasks made me feel like a caged animal. What weighed on me most was being forced to carry out meaningless tasks merely to satisfy a manager’s personal preferences—this sense of being objectified eroded my sense of self. When conflicts arose, I watched helplessly as procedural fairness was weaponized to serve unjust ends. That despair ultimately led me to resign.

Feeding Strangers’ Cats, Walking Alone Through a City of Light

In the early days after quitting, I took on food delivery jobs for cat just to make ends meet. I still remember that Spring Festival: walking through city alleys while warm lights glowed behind every window, laughter of family reunions. Wrapped in biting cold, I hurried along—my body chilled by winter, my mind clouded by uncertainty about what lay ahead.

My Spicy Hotpot Dream

Later, I partnered with a friend to open a small eatery called “100% Spicy Hotpot.” I hoped to turn the warmth of everyday street life into a sustainable venture. But high rent and high platform promotion fees quickly outpaced our expectations, and we were forced to close due to unsustainable losses.

Chinacraftstudio: Where Craft Meets Heart

I felt as if I were drowning in deep water—unable to breathe, unable to find direction. Only when I finally paused and turned inward did clarity begin to emerge. I realized how deeply I cherished Chinese handcrafts: the bamboo weaving flowing from an artisan’s fingertips, the thousand-year-old stories hidden in celadon glazes, the Eastern aesthetics crystallized in embroidered patterns. These crafts carry not only generations of skill but also the humanistic spirit and lived wisdom of Chinese culture. That “warmth of human touch” was precisely the connecting force I had long been searching for.

Thus, chinacraftstudio.com was born. I wanted to build a bridge—one that would carry these historically rich, meticulously crafted objects out of secluded alleyways and humble workshops and into the wider world, where they could be seen, appreciated, and loved. Here, every piece tells its maker’s story; every purchase becomes an act of preserving and honoring tradition. I believe that authentic cultural beauty, rooted in sincerity and craft, will always transcend borders and speak directly to the heart.
